INSPECTION OF MARINE OUTFALL (UNDERSEA PIPELINE) AT PROVIDENCE

 

The Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) invites expression of interest from individuals or local firms for the inspection of the marine outfall for the Providence and Beau Vallon Sewage treatment plant.

 

The individual or firm will be expected to survey and assess the following criteria for both the Providence and Beau Vallon marine outfalls. Assess the physical condition of the undersea pipelines at Providence and Beau Vallon

  • Evidence of spalling of the exposed concrete anchor blocks
  • Assessment of corrosion and thickness of metal anodes
  • Determine the extent of sediment accumulation in the vicinity of the diffusers (located at the end of the pipeline)
  • Ensure diffuser ports are free of obstacles and are allowing uniform flow
  • Survey for cracks or other deficiencies in the outfall
  • Leaks or evidence of degradation on the pipeline
  • Potential hazards

 

The length of the providence outfall is approximately 1.2km and for Beau Vallon is 900m long.

Individual or firms should provide the following information with their submission;

  • Ability to undertake filming in deep waters
  • License or permit to operate as divers or diving company
  • Experience if any for inspection of structures located in deep waters
