POU to introduce Vendor ID Database soon

The Procurement Oversight Unit (POU) is set to introduce an online database that captures details of all service providers to the public sector in the country. The portal commonly referred to as the Vendors’ ID, links the POU to other  government entities that holds information about registered businesses. For example, their registration and license details as well as their status with the Seychelles Revenue Commission amongst others.

This will make it easier for entities to determine if a particular business qualifies or not to bid for for particular projects or if it has been banned by an entity. When fully operational, the Vendors’ ID will be an effective contract management tool the will simplify the procurement process of public entities and the POU.

The which Database has been developed in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), will come online in the coming weeks after POU staffs become fully conversant in managing the system.
